Accidental vasectomy! Doctor gives wrong patient the snip in case of mistaken identity
https://www.rt.com/uk/335979-accidental-vasectomy-doctor-patient/

I'm in two minds on this, as to weather the doctor should be struck off, the patient needs every thing done to rectify the situation as well as compensation.
What puzzles me, there have been many serous case that have not come to light and why this one in particular.

Peacefully protesting pensioner arrested outside NSA spy base
Police arrested a 74-year-old peace activist who refused to leave a protest site outside an NSA spy base in Yorkshire on Wednesday. The force also issued an official dispersal order banning protesters from assembling there.
Lindis Percy, a founding member of Campaign for the Accountability of American Bases (CAAB), was arrested by police at the Menwith Hill US listening post.

The snoop facility is part of America’s global intelligence gathering network, with an estimated 1,450 US civilian and military personnel thought to work there.

Percy is a former nurse, midwife and health visitor with a degree in peace studies from the University of Bradford where she studied in the late 1980s.

Speaking to the Morning Star, she said police arrived at the weekly peace vigil and asked campaigners to leave. When Percy refused, she was arrested.

North Yorkshire Police and Ministry of Defence Police have now reportedly applied a dispersal order to prevent further vigils. Percy said she will use an appearance in court on April 7 to have her say.

“I very much want this in court as it is serious. If they get away with this, it stinks,” she told the Morning Star.

In 2008, UK spy agency GCHQ produced a report claiming Menwith Hill had been tasked with monitoring drones used by the Israeli Defense Force (IDF) as it ramped up its military attacks on Gaza.

The NSA spy hub reportedly collected more than 20 drone videos by intercepting signals between Israeli drones and orbiting satellites.

The NSA’s internal newsletter, SIDToday, said NSA analysts had for the first time collected footage from the cockpit of an “Israeli Air Force F-16 fighter jet” that showed a “target on the ground being tracked.” Menwith Hill was involved in that, working alongside a GCHQ base in Cyprus.

During Israel’s three-week Operation Cast Lead offensive in 2008, Human Rights Watch said dozens of Palestinians were killed in drone strikes.

In a series of diplomatic cables, published by WikiLeaks, an Israeli commander told a US State Department official that an unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) fired two missiles against suspected militants outside a mosque, spraying civilians with shrapnel in the process.

RT asked Britain’s Ministry of Defence (MoD) on Thursday why it had shut down the weekly peace vigils at Menwith Hill, which Percy and other campaigners had been attending for some time.

The government department refused to confirm or deny whether it had issued the order and suggested a spokesperson for the NSA might be able to offer a response.

The NSA is yet to respond.

US govt mistakenly leaks Snowden’s name in case that shuttered Lavabit
The US government has accidentally leaked Edward Snowden’s name, letting slip the FBI’s real target in its legal pursuit of the email firm Lavabit. The encrypted service was shut down following the NSA scandal, burying the secret name in the process.
The classified identity of the FBI’s interest in the case would have remained unknown if not for the government’s oversight.

The federal authorities publicized a huge cache of case documents, redacting all the details about the individual, except one and, ironically, the most telling one: Edward Snowden’s email address, Ed_Snowden@lavabit.com, in an August 2013 document.

In 2013, shortly after Snowden leaked NSA documents disclosing vast surveillance programs operated by the US government, Lavabit owner Ladar Levison was compelled to install a pen/trap device on his servers to collect information about one of its unnamed subscribers.

When the federal case against Lavabit arose in June 2013, Levison of Dallas, Texas, was allegedly ordered to stay quiet about the subscriber in question under threat of contempt and even potentially jail time.

Amid secrecy, it was widely presumed that the subscriber the feds were looking for was former National Security Agency contractor Snowden, however, it has never been officially confirmed.

“Three years later, I still cannot tell you who they were after. I keep getting asked the question, and I can’t answer,” Levison told Wired, which for its part concluded: “Now, it appears he doesn’t have to. The government has answered for him.”

The case documents were posted on Pacer, an online databank of federal legal documents, on March 4. According to a report in Wired, the release was a “part Levison’s long battle for transparency” to get more of the documents unsealed and unedited in the case that eventually cost him his business.

Earlier this year, US authorities were ordered to re-release all “previously filed pleadings, transcripts, and orders” with everything unedited except “the identity of the subscriber and the subscriber’s email address.”

The case was finalized, when the government was allowed to redact other information, including that which might harm its investigation, Wired reported.

The court documents have been noticed only this week by the transparency site Cryptome, which posted them online.

France wants term ‘femicide’ adopted in international law alongside ‘genocide’
Speaking on the fate of Yazidi women, who are taken as sex slaves, raped and slaughtered in thousands by jihadists in the Middle East, French minister Laurence Rossignol urged the UN to adopt the term “femicide” into international law to describe such horrific crimes.

“It is because they are women and they are Yazidis that they are sold and murdered [by Islamic State (IS, formerly known as ISIS/ISIL),” said Laurence Rossignol, French minister for family, children and women’s rights on Wednesday at the 60th annual Commission on the Status of Women.

“What they are experiencing is femicide,” she told AFP.

The minister insisted that it does not make sense that the word “genocide” is part of the vocabulary of international law, while the word “femicide” is not.

The international coalition carrying out anti-terror operation in Iraq and Syria should say that it is not only there to eradicate terrorism, but it is also there to protect Yazidi women from femicide, Rossignol added.

The term “femicide”, Rossignol explained to AFP, means “the persecution of women because they are women…[It] is an intention to wipe out a group.”

Rossignol said she wanted the term femicide become “the basis for prosecution in international courts,” and eventually be adopted by the International Criminal Court.

On Thursday, US Secretary of State John Kerry declared that Islamic State is committing genocide against Christians and other minorities in Iraq and Syria.

“In my judgment, Daesh is responsible for genocide against groups in areas under its control, including Yazidis, Christians and Shia Muslims,” Kerry said, using an Arabic derogatory term for Islamic State. He cited the murder and siege of Yazidis on Mt. Sinjar in Iraq, where IS captured thousands of women and girls.

Kerry’s announcement came two days after the US House of Representatives voted unanimously 393-0 to declare that IS behavior could be seen as genocide against minority groups in the Middle East.

“What is happening in Iraq and Syria is a deliberate, systematic targeting of religious and ethnic minorities,” House Speaker Paul Ryan (R-Wisconsin) said in a statement. “Today, the House unanimously voted to call ISIS’s atrocities what they are: a genocide."

This is exactly what I was talking about in reference to the My Lai article, ISIS are US proxies created by the CIA, the USA is responsible for those atrocities.
