Media Blackout As France Witnesses Biggest Revolution In 200 Years

As France prepare to host millions of visitors at the Euro 2016 Football Championships, a state of emergency has been extended in the country as it faces its largest protests in recent history.

Hundreds of thousands of citizens have taken to the streets in France, amounting to what some are calling the new French Revolution amid a total media blackout in Western news outlets.

I would think that the french are the strongest supporters of unions in Europe .The french are all politically motivated . Having said that , is that all a good thing .

I remember when i was working trade fairs in potugal , 10 years ago ,they were in a fatal employment situation where if they hired someone , the employers were obliged a two year contract at any one time , so within such difficult times there was very few jobs created due to such a slow economy . The average saying was who can guarantee two years of work , it was ridicules.. But the unions stayed strong , and unemployment also .The amount of employment in the black was incredible.....

There are no easy answers for France but not listening to the general public is always the wrong way. ...

It's been going on for months, the "socialist" government want to take away workers rights, the other day there was 1.3 MILLION out on the streets in 250 towns & cities.

I think I've changed my mind about border control. I think we should close our borders completely now, for about a year. With any luck, that will stop the England fans coming back. Wait; this isn't fair. Most football fans are perfectly nice, decent, peaceful folk. Some of my best friends go to football matches. We can't be blaming the sport of football for what is obviously a bunch of violent arseholes looking for an excuse. What sort of idiot would see a small number of violent arseholes and assume that the entire culture they claim to represent is to blame?

Its curious that its the socialist party that is pushing for the change of working hours and not the right wing..

The work contract system in most of southern europe, I have never been in agreement with , but the people are blind intentionally to any other system .
I remember really well the spanish system .

it was a nightmare for the employer and so insecure for the employee... then , then , then, i could go on for hours ..... It was good for government and state jobs , but for anyone else outside those employment sectors ,, they were screwed . But the people were scared to change , due to ignorance or fear of change even if its better.

I'm not missing this whole argument now that i have left europe , it was one of the bang your head on the wall arguments that never would budge.

Thats why I'm not shore if the unions are doing france a favor or are securing there own ass's instead of the people they represent , just like spain.

Anyways I hope they prove me wrong , but I know they wont. Piicard facepalm

I think we are in an era, now, where the political alignments are in reverse, for subtly clever reasons. A party of the 'left' can do things against the 'left' under what Alex Jones would call, "Left Cover". It simply means that the potential opposition to it is crippled because the 'right' won't oppose it for obvious reasons, and the official 'left' won't oppose it because it's their own guys in power and they are their own 'gods'.

The language of politics is crippled too. Most people are confused by it. The old left-right paradigm has become like an old folk song that people get up and sing when they are drunk, except that, really, they are not drunk, they are dumbed down and receiving their song words direct from the 'cloud' via the app' implanted in their brains, called TV.

The idea of not needing to store our own data but to just have it available in the cloud, actually applies to all this political nonsense. Why think for yourself, and eventually become good at it? when you can just save brain capacity for pleasure and entertainment consumption, and receive the 'important' in download packages that have been "certified safe and virus free", from the cloud.

Very well put Norman, I agree, & it's been going on for a while, New Labour being the stand out example of this, Tony Blair & his cronies being the most right wing gov of all time, even more than Thatcher, more wars, more sell offs, more hollowing out of the state to private hands, but mainly done in the dark & under heaps of boring & tedious legal & financial jargon.

The thing is non of these politicians have any power anymore, it's all dictated by people behind the scenes at things like the Bilderberg meetings, the Anglo Saxon corporate style of doing things (which is what is being pushed on everyone) doesn't sit well with the French, companies that have imported it have had lots of suicides amongst staff.
