My daughter in Toulouse is crapping herself. She's just told me that they deactivated her health insurance card almost immediately after the result.

They don't have the legal right to do that, we are still in the EU as fully paid up members until such time as it is made otherwise by acts of law.
If she means "carte vitale" that is issued by the state as opposed to private / top up health insurance then that's another thing, if she is working for Airbus then if it was me I would find out who in the company represents staff re local laws etc.
The local prefecture must have gone mental IF they have cancelled her carte vitale, that would effect all Airbus's British staff & there must be loads of them !

No, she's now ex-Airbus, but her partner still is.
I know she's in a 'state' about it so may be doing what I often do too, panicking. Perhaps her card failed for some other reason, and she flipped, thinking it was the brexit result.
I don't have any details about which card etc.

It could be nothing, it could even be the card it's self, I expect a lots of wobblers to be thrown over the weeks & months to come
The Carte Vitale (it's green) is for the health service & covers most of your expenses should you need medical help, a lot of people buy "top up" insurance for unforeseen costs as the Carte Vitale dosen't cover all of the expense.
It's issued by your local prefecture (town hall) so it could be a local bureaucrat got above themselves & pushed a big button, I would expect a company like Airbus to look after it's employees & their families, they are HUGE & I'm sure a call from them to the right ear would sort it out.
I have a Carte Vitale, but not health insurance for the rest, a few years ago I had a broken leg & the costs I had to pay probably added up to no more than 200 euros, and that was in dribs & drabs, which was two separate hospital visits (didn't trust the local one had done the cast right so drove to the big city one lol), X-rays (LOTS) crutches & daily home visits by a nurse for anti blood clot injections that hurt like a bitch.
I'm sure it will all work out !

It looks like there's going to be a 2nd referendum:

Can't say I'm surprised, they kept redoing it in Ireland until they got the "right" result !
I would have thought it would have got a damn sight more names than that from the amount of fuss going on........
Re: The UK's EU Referendum ! ! !
It still so childish, it's not that the English wanted a them and us situation. ( I'm generalising )
Just not whole world coming to live on this tiny island.
We / us here know there are other agendas tied into all of this.
I'm sorry spiral, it's a tricky situation you have space, better housing and no GMO where you are, but other issues.
Norman I hope your daughter will be OK.
It's such a global mess of a pantomime we live in.
