they make me sick , i noticed a few things when i was at school with these brothers, they taught with fear and fear alone, if it wasn't fear from their religion hitting you ,it was them, they took a shine to some of the kids, i didn't put two and two together in those days, but looking back i feel for those kids.The stats will hurt you as you know the states are worse cuz there are many that never came forward.




Who are the Brothers of St John of God?


Forty per cent of the members of the Brothers of St John of God had allegations of abuse made against them from 1950-2010.
Alarming statistics were found within the non-ordained ranks of brothers scattered throughout Australia who often ran, and still run, schools and orphanages.

Overall, there were 1,880 alleged perpetrators identified:

597 (32 per cent) were non-ordained religious brothers
572 (30 per cent) were priests
543 (29 per cent) were lay people
96 (5 per cent) were non-ordained religious sisters
72 (4 per cent) of known alleged perpetrators, their religious status was not known.
