Sex abuse victim in her twenties allowed euthanasia as mental health problems ‘INCURABLE’

A WOMAN who was sexually abused as a child has successfully applied for euthanasia as she could not live with her mental suffering.

By Laura Mowat

The victim was given a lethal injection after health professionals decided her post-traumatic stress disorder and other conditions were incurable.

Her condition included severe anorexia, chronic depression and suicidal mood swings, tendencies to self-harm, hallucinations, obsessions and compulsions.

Although the Dutch victim showed improvements after intensive therapy, she was given the right to die after doctors said treatment was hopeless.

British MPs said the case proved euthanasia should never be legalised in the U.K.

The woman had been abused between the age of five and 15 and had suffered from mental disorders since.

It was revealed the woman had post-traumatic stress disorder that was resistant to treatment.

Although the woman had had treatment, which was “temporarily partially successful”, treatment was stopped last year when independent consultants said the case was “hopeless”.

One Labour MP criticized the decision saying it meant sex abuse victims were now being punished with death.

MP Robert Flello said:

“It almost sends the message that if you are a victim of abuse, and as a result you get a mental illness, you are punished by being killed, that the punishment for the crime of being a victim is death.”

Tory MP Fiona Bruce, chairman of the Parliamentary All-Party Pro-Life Group, said:

“This tragic situation shows why euthanasia should never be legalised in this country.

“What this woman needed, at a desperate point in her young life, was help and support to overcome her problems, not the option of euthanasia.”

The issue of assisted dying campaign is one that splits opinions in the U.K.

The numbers heading to Switzerland to be killed have increased with around one person a fortnight going to Dignitas from the U.K.

In total around 300 people from Britain have ended their lives in the Swiss clinic.

Campaign groups are encouraging the U.K. government to change the laws, however when MPs voted on the issue last year, they voted against euthanisia.

As wrong as this is, is it really much worse than the failings of the NHS Mental Health Services who fail in their duty to provide help or the government with their phoney doctors doing medical reviews and failing people for disability/ESA to meet quotas which has forced the suicides of tens of thousands of people? That's the government forcing people into positions where they feel suicide is the only way, not much different to giving them a lethal injection really.

I compleatly agree with this, it has been an excersice in mass murder.

I question is what did they offer for treatment, I bet you it wasn't what she needed or wanted, remember their not really in the business of curing.

Just been speaking to a friend, she was telling me about her friend's father who lost four stone in just three months, in this nursing home, her friend has tried to get her father out, she is now not allowed to see him and the home is accusing her of all sorts of foul play, the home has been awarded a very big contract country wide for more care homes. I wonder who the share holders are?
These are set up to milk all they can from the patients before killing them off.
