Just part of Queeslands lfesyle.
If you can live with the occasional croc up North and the occasional shark or bush fire ya may as well get used to the occasion cyclone debbie as well .
Have a beer in those hot summer nights thinking that there isnt a better place to live in the world.....
Generally the cyclone hasn't been so sevier this time around , there are communities fairly hard hit with out power and many areas flooded and isolated like Bowen and Airly beech . but i guess much of the worst will be on the islands .the highest winds yesterday were on Hamilton island at 256 km
All this is further up north from where i live . we shall be getting about 80 mm of after rain tomorrow , as it flows south the storm usually weakens.
..
An update from the'' Australian'' , and the rescue story , their is always one. this time the cockatoo

some photos from the abc , as you could imagine they will pick the picks that have distruction , not the locations or houses that survived the storm .

Oh an update this morning , a flood warning has been released this morning , closing all schools and the recommending of closing all business's by lunch time . in the area of s/e queensland . They were expecting only 80 mm of rain today but that has changed as now they are expecting up to 400mm , and during the night we already had 250,,
its not all so very alarming they are been very cautious as the last time they didnt take it very seriously and we had mistakes that made made contributing damage towards floods from the dams in brisbaine and surrounded areas in 2011.
Nobody wants a repeat of that so all services are present and on there way towards queensland coast . all services including 1300 defense force to help with clean ups especially up north but mostly to help the remote areas and islands . The navy help alot . At least they are good for something . At least they are acting towards a positive cause.
We are home today so it will be more cups of tea than usual and watching the rain cleanse our world whether we like it or not . all good . Hope the internet holds out !
